Soča Valley, Triglav Park


Day 1, Sept 15 – Welcome to Slovenia! Arrive in Ljubljana and enjoy private transportation through a scenic valley to a small town aside the beautiful Soča River. Enjoy a simple dinner of authentic local cuisine or indulge at a Michelin-star restaurant (optional).


Day 2, Sept 16 – Mountain sunrise.  Greet the morning with a spectacular view and an in-depth discovery of World War I history. Visit one of Europe’s best history museums then explore Kozjak Waterfalls. Later in the day learn of the area’s unique honeys.


Day 3, Sept 17 – Triglav park & Local cuisine.  Travel to a small village in the Alps to sample and learn about the area’s specialty Tolmin cheese. Then join your guide for trails and vistas as you walk through Slovenia’s national forest.



Groznjan-Grisignana, Rovinj


Day 4, Sept 18 – Kras region.  Discover Istria’s regional meats, cheeses and Teran wines at the home of a local artisan before continuing on to Rovinj.


Day 5, Sept 19 – Charming Rovinj.  Enjoy a relaxing day around Rovinj. There’s so much to explore! Discover cobblestone streets, small shops, and quaint cafes. Laze by the seaside or take a light hike. Meet with your travel companions for a sunset cruise on the Adriatic.


Day 6, Sept 20 – Local artisans.  Today’s highlights include a visit to a small art colony overlooking the Mirna Valley. Then enjoy a tasting at an award-winning olive oil producer, learn nuance of flavors, and how this exceptional product is made.



Ljubljana, Tolmin Gorge, Lake Bled


Day 7, Sept 21 – Predjama Castle.  Make your way to Predjama castle, a majestic castle set into a four-hundred-foot cliff. Then it’s on to the Old World City of Ljubljana, a visitor’s dream.


Day 8, Sept 22 – Old World Charm.  Get a historical walking tour of the Old World city of Ljubljana, then enjoy time discovering the many tucked-away corners, cafes and boutique shops.


Day 9, Sept 23 – Picture Perfect.  Visit Vintgar Gorge, a canyon cut into towering hills by Radovna River’s turquoise waters. Make your way to Lake Bled, often called the most beautiful lake in the world. Take in the iconic castle and cathedral and hike to an overlook. Farewell castle dinner.


Day 10, Sept 24 – Final goodbyes.  After breakfast, say final goodbyes to your traveling companions before preparing for your flight home. We hope you come again!

    What's the activity level?

    This is an active trip. Be prepared to do several hours of walking on several days, navigate uneven streets, climb stairs, and hike trails. There will be free time for those who want to do more intense hiking.
