Magical Patzcuaro

The original name for Patzcuaro translates to “Door to Heaven.” Upon arrival, you’ll see why! A misty lake, timeless plaza, and touches of Spanish colonial history invite you to step into a Mexico that feels both ancient and entirely new.

Mon, March 9 – Welcome to Mexico! Arrive in Morelia for private transportation to the serene mountain town of Patzcuaro. Check into your boutique hotel before a welcome dinner.

Tues, March 10 – Patzcuaro Up Close. On today’s walking tour, you’ll see grand squares, hidden courtyards, remarkable art, and a bit of everyday local life. Let Patzcuaro’s quiet magic draw you in! Housed in a 16th century church, the famous library highlights a vast colorful mural giving you a visual story of the Michoacan people.

Wed, March 11 – Mexican Artistry. Visit Santa Clara del Cobre where master artisans demonstrate an unforgettable glimpse into the rhythm, fire, and expertise behind one of Mexico’s most cherished traditions—copper craftsmanship.

World Heritage Morelia

Welcome to Morelia, where pink stone cathedrals, elegant colonial arches, and a vibrant cultural heartbeat invite you to discover one of Mexico’s most captivating cities and both sophisticated and local markets.

Thurs, March 12 – Local markets and local connections. Explore Morelia’s shops and boutiques, a journey through Mexican artistry, everything from fine guitars to embroidered textiles, sweets, to regional pottery. Later visit a non-profit where local youth are empowered through education, mentorship, and community programs. Then enjoy some homemade tacos!

Fri, March 13 – Millions of Monarchs. Leave early morning for bucket list experience—witnessing the monarch migration in remote forested highlands. After a short hike or horseback ride, enjoy the magic of quiet reflection surrounded by a million butterflies.

Sat, March 14 – Your day your way! Choose a relaxing morning exploring Morelia on your own or join cooking class or spa experience (both optional). Later get ready for Morelia’s fireworks—a dazzling display that fills the night with color and celebration—and a fantastic farewell dinner.
