HCMC & MEKONG DELTA
Day 1 – Welcome to Vietnam
Welcome to Vietnam and the capital city of Ho Chi Minh City, still referred to by many as Saigon. Enjoy free transfer from the airport and settle in at your hotel. In the evening you’re invited to a welcome dinner followed by an orientation of all the exciting things that lay ahead.

Day 2 – Cu Chi tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City
Head to the end of the Ho Chi Minh trail and discover the Cu Chi tunnels, a vital part of both the French and Vietnam wars. After lunch, take a guided tour of HCMC including the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the French colonial era Post Office. Enjoy a free evening.

Day 3 – A Trip into the Mekong Delta
On your way into the delta stop at the colourful Cao Dai temple, representative of an intriguing blend of different religious beliefs. Travel on to the Cai Be floating market for a look at, and a taste of, local lifestyle by the river through different cottage industries such as candy making, fruit orchards.

HOI AN
Day 4 – Old Town Hoi An
Fly to Da Nang and arrive in nearby Hoi An in time for lunch at a well-known restaurant and cooking school. Take a walking tour of the charming Old Town, including a visit to a silk factory. Enjoy free time before a sunset cruise.

Day 5 – My Son and a Round Boat Ride
Take in My Son Ruins, an important religious site belonging to the Champa kingdom in 4-14 AD. Next visit a local home and watch rice paper being made. Savor a delicious lunch at an organic farm and experience the life of a local Vietnamese farmer. Start off the afternoon with a round boat ride. There’s nothing like it! Then you’re free to peruse the many silk shops, rent a motorbike to explore on your own, or relax by the river.

Day 6 – A trip to the hill retreat of Sa Pa
Fly to Hanoi where you’ll travel further north to Sa Pa. Follow the Tram Tom Pass between gorgeous mountains terraced with endless fields of rice. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing dinner with amazing mountain views.

Day 7 – Mountain village life in Sa Pa
Take a light hike through a small mountain town and learn about the lifestyle, customs, and beliefs of the ethnic minority people. Along the way, enjoy breath-taking scenery and opportunities to participate in hands-on local life. After a late lunch, use your free time to hang out at the pool, explore the streets of downtown Sa Pa, or sip a cup of egg coffee, hands down the best coffee in Vietnam.

Day 8 – Cultural Connections in Sa Pa
In the morning, travel to a unique ethnic minority school, one of the many places where your vacation dollars benefit those overseas. Interact with the local children, meet the villagers, and learn about their life. After lunch back in Sa Pa, transfer to Hanoi.

Day 9 – Hanoi Highlights
Take a guided tour of some of Hanoi’s most famous sites, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum & residence, One-Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison.

Day 10 – Old Quarter Walking and Eating Tour
Around Hoan Kiem Lake lies Hanoi’s Old Quarter, a stretch of thirty-six streets that each carries the name of the goods that used to be traded there. You’ll find silver jewelry on Silver Street and on other streets an array of other goods, like silk and herbal medicines. Along the way enjoy tastings of Vietnamese specialties. During your free afternoon walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and explore more on your own. Take in an optional evening water puppet show.

Day 11 – Halong Bay
Travel to Halong Bay and cruise between the uniquely shaped rocky outcrops that jut up from the ocean floor. Visit a floating fishing village and head out to explore on your own with kayaks (optional). Complete your day with fine dining with a view overlooking the bay. Overnight on the ship.

Day 12 – Halong Bay and French Quarter Hanoi
Wake up to the serene surroundings on the bay and cruise back to shore. Disembark and travel back to Hanoi with a stop at a local pottery shop. In the afternoon discover the French Quarter with its grand boulevards and stunning architecture, then wrap up your day with a farewell dinner.
