Amazing Chiang Mai

There are more things to do in Chiang Mai than you could imagine. So we’ve packed some of the highlights in to these days in Chiang Mai.

Day 1, Oct 24 – Food tour. Start out your time in Chiang Miang with a first-rate food tour then travel to Doi Suthep for an amazing view of the city and a look into its history.

Day 2, Oct 25 – Pamper Yourself! Today is a pamper yourself kind of day. Check out some unique shops in the morning followed by lunch at a tea room. In the afternoon sit back and relax with some Thai massage. An authentic Thai dinner is served riverside along the Ping River.

Day 3, Oct 26 – A Visit with the Elephants. Elephants are often associated with Thailand and today you’ll find out why. Whether you choose to spend the day caring for elephants (optional) or go for an elephant ride, you’ll discover how Thai culture and elephants are intricately intertwined. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time.

Day 4, Oct 27 – Hot springs or Ziplining. You’ve got the morning to enjoy however you want. Then experience a Thai-style picnic lunch and a visit to some hot springs. Or if you’d rather, you can zipline over the forest canopy on one of the world’s longest ziplines (optional). Wrap up the night with more food than you can eat at Sunday night walking street!

Day 5, Oct 28 – Top of the mountain. Get outdoors with a visit to Doi Inthanon National Park. Take a forest walk, hike by the waterfalls, and check out some amazing gardens (you’re literally in the clouds at the top of the mountain).

The Heart of a Village in Wiang Pa Pao

Day 6, Oct 29 – Day trip to Wiang Pa Pao. Visit the work of a nationally renowned potter who uses a one-of-a-kind technique and then travel to a mountain village with beautiful views and a powerful story. You’ll visit the children’s home that your trip benefits, meet the kids and share a meal together.

Beach Days in Krabi

Day 7, Oct 30 – Emerald pool and the beach. Take an early flight south to Krabi and some of Thailand’s most famous beaches. Visit an amazing fresh water pool with emerald green water, then wrap up the day with a delicious dinner.

Day 8, Oct 31 – Island tour. White sand beaches, towering limestone cliffs and crystal clear water are on the agenda for today’s private island tour. It’s going to be great!

A Bit of Bangkok

Day 9, Nov 1 – Bangkok. Spend the morning poolside or beachside before leaving for Bangkok. Explore Bangkok’s klongs, the water canals vital to the livelihood of the city. Tour the house of Jim Thompson, credited for reviving the Thai silk industry, and wander the silk shop.

Day 10, Nov 2 – Grand Palace. Royalty has a special place in the heart of the Thai people. So today you’ll tour the Grand Palace, an expanse of fifty-three acres that includes the royal residence and throne halls and learn how the royals have impacted history and culture. For the rest of the afternoon, you’re free to shop, have a famous Thai massage, then meet up for a farewell dinner.

Day 11, Nov 3 – Take an early morning flight or enjoy some free time before heading home. Thanks to time zones, you may be back the same day you leave!

Lastly, you’ll get the inside scoop into what real Thai culture is like, and have fun while doing it!
What are some cultural activities included in this tour?
Throughout the tour, we’ll introduce you to local artisans and cultural insights. Here’s a sampling:

  • Travel to a mountain village with beautiful views. Meet local women and watch them handweave fabric.(Feel free to try your hand at it too!).
  • Sample dishes unique to northern Thailand and hear the interesting stories behind them.
  • Discover the intricacies of indigo dying. Indigo prints are hot and only a few places in the world make them like they do here!
  • Meet the children who benefit from your trip and share a meal with them.
